June 20

Burglary report: 300 block of Monte-Brady Road, Montesano. 3:54 p.m. Four window screens taken off, back slider door unlocked, some things thrown on the ground, which isn’t usual for the owners. Owner notified.

Animal problem: First block of Lambert Road, Elma. 9:32 a.m. Stray cats have taken up residency outside house. Reporting party contacted and given resources to call.

Agency assist: Eastbound U.S. Highway 12 at Mile Post 20, Elma. 1:56 p.m. Washington State Patrol in foot pursuit. One detained.

June 21

Civil matter: 1200 block of U.S. Highway 12, Montesano. 4:46 p.m. Man in reporting party’s home without permission. He is sitting in a chair, refusing to leave. He lives in RV outside. Reporting party waiting outside. Deputy found no house at reported address. Called reporting party. House determined to be in Thurston County. Department notified.

Intoxicated in public: First block of S. Union Road, Elma. 9:22 p.m. Woman stumbling around and falling over. White, about 25 years old, 160 pounds with long hair. Last seen wearing red tank top and blue jeans. No vehicle seen. Law enforcement on scene. Subject’s mother arrived and took woman home.

June 22

Harassment report: First block of Wenzel Slough Road, Elma. 1:13 a.m. Reporting party was stopped at stop sign. An older model black SUV, possibly a Bronco, swerved in front of her, then went around her vehicle and hit the back of her car. Reporting party sped away and has not seen vehicle since. Unknown who it was. Woman reported a man exited his vehicle on Wenzel Slough Road and struck (possibly kicked) her car. The story changed a few times throughout conversation. Reporting party advised that law enforcement would patrol the area. Reporting party satisfied. No suspect information.

Custody dispute or problem: 5100 block of U.S. Highway 12, Elma. 12:44 p.m. Reporting party had scheduled pickup of children. But other parent nor children are there in violation of parenting plan, reporting party said. Reporting party wanted to report the incident and have the parenting plan violation documented. Reporting party given case number, told to follow up with attorney.

Rescue needed: First block of Wenzel Slough Road, Elma. 3:02 p.m. Dog swimming in east side of pond. Reporting party wants a life jacket so he can get to the dog, says dog has been treading water for past half hour with a bumper in its mouth and is moving toward the north side of the pond. Another caller reporting a dog appears to be drowning, is thrashing hard. Nobody in the pond with watercraft or life jacket. Fire advised as they might be better equipped to handle. Reporting party says citizen assisted and is bringing dog back to shore; someone in kayak helping as well. Cancel all responders. Additional reporting party says a man is in the water and is not in distress. Subject in canoe on the water. Reporting party says male in the canoe was able to get the dog. Male subject holding on to canoe appears to be OK. Reporting party says canoe flipped over and there are three people in the water and the dog is in need of assistance. Nature of call changed to rescue. Multiple units requested to assist. At 3:20 p.m., responding units can slow; everyone is out of the water. All people and the dog are out of the water. No need for aid.

June 23

Weapons violation: Porter Creek Campground, Oakville. 8:25 p.m. Man shooting arrows in camp toward other campers. He was asked to stop and refused. Reporting party says she contacted Department of Natural Resources but they have not responded. Suspect is in Campsite 12 and shooting at a stump which is 8 inches wide. He says he won’t miss. Reporting party says, if he does miss, the arrow will hit another campsite with a family in it. Reporting party was in Campsite 5 with camp host. Washington State Patrol contacted.

Court order violation: 1200 block of U.S. Highway 12, Montesano. 5:43 p.m. Man keeps calling and texting reporting party in violation of court order. Reporting party advised not to respond and to obtain a competing order.

Agency assist: 1100 block of U.S. Highway 12, Montesano. 5:45 p.m. Reporting party hears person screaming for help. No further contact. Fall victim in need of help.

Suspicious person: West Main Street and North Third Street, Elma. 3:11 a.m. Man stopping vehicles on Main. Man got mad and started yelling so reporting party drove off.

June 25

Agency assist: Tumwater Police Department wants to speak with parent of boy reportedly choked by anesthesiologist at dental clinic in Thurston County. Father to wait until tomorrow to file police report on incident. Deputy asked to take photos of injuries and obtain permission for release of medical information. Medical release forwarded.

DUI alcohol or drugs: 300 block of South Bank Road, Elma. 10:39 p.m. Blue Geo Metro has gone past reporting party’s residence twice, stopped outside driveway. Last seen northbound on South Bank. Deputy attempted to pull over vehicle. Vehicle fleeing. Vehicle wrecked at Wakefield. One in custody. Roadway blocked. No aid needed.

Report of fraud/blackmail: First block of Mox-Chehalis Road. 2:44 p.m. Reporting party received a call from a “foreign” sounding person claiming reporting party had warrant out for arrest and problems with social security office. Subject tried to get social security number. Reporting party did not comply, suggested to check credit report for fraudulent accounts.

Threats received: 100 block of W. Broadway, Montesano. Reporting party’s dog got off chain, ended up going after neighbor’s dog causing raucous. Neighbor threatened reporting party, his wife and animals. Reporting party asked for help mitigating issue.

June 26

Traffic hazard: 500 block of Monte-Brady Road, Montesano. 7:17 a.m. Cows in the roadway stopping traffic.

Juvenile problem: Montesano. 6:38 p.m. Reporting party seeks help finding 14-year-old son. Son has a vape pen and marijuana. He has been in trouble for having alcohol and marijuana at school. Reporting party advises his son will be cooperative.

Animal problem: First block of Devonshire Road, Montesano. 11:37 a.m. Brown mastiff and dark brown and gray mastiff appear to have been dumped in the area near bridge on Devonshire. No collars seen. Microchips enabled dogs to be returned to owner.

Vehicle theft: First block of Devonshire Road, Montesano. 6:32 p.m. At base of twin bridges, Blue 1983 Suzuki FA50 scooter stolen between 3 and 5 p.m. no suspects. It was chained to jersey barrier.

Hit and run accident, no injuries: Delezenne Road and South Bank Road. 7:55 a.m. Reporting party noticed fencing in road, bumper with license plate found in field. Property owner notified. Hit and run occurred during attempt to elude officers.

Threats received: First block of Murray Place, Elma. 4:04 p.m. Reporting party said roommate threatened to kill them, has text messages. No known weapons in residence. Reporting party and fiance scared to return home. Hold for next available deputy.
