Dec. 19

Felony eluding: 1000 block of West Main Street, Elma. 12:01 a.m. Speeds approaching 80 mph on Wakefield. On Lambert, suspect vehicle collided with officer’s vehicle. Vehicle crashed at 12:07 a.m. on Main Street. Starting first aid. Suspect’s vehicle reportedly hit two officers’ vehicles. Suspect in custody. Vehicle towed at 1:38 a.m.

Traffic hazard: 5400 block of U.S. Highway 12 eastbound at milepost 26, Malone. 7:09 p.m. Large tree blocking eastbound lane. Can drive around. Department of Transportation notified.

Dec. 20

Rape: Ocosta. 12:37 a.m. Westport Police requests Grays harbor Sheriff’s Office respond for rape that occurred in Ocosta.

Wildlife animal problem: 100 block of Moore Road, Satsop. 4:32 p.m. Reporting party states injured elk in yard for few days. Believes it has hoof rot or broken shoulder. Department of Fish and Wildlife is aware of animal and has been watching it. If it degrades, they will put it down.

Dec. 21

Assault: (Address redacted), Oakville. 10:29 a.m. One in custody for second degree assault of a child.

Dec. 22

Traffic hazard: Wakefield Road and Fourth Street South, Elma. 10:27 p.m. Several large cows on Wakefield in the middle of the road. Owner on scene attempting to get cows back in.

Dec. 23

Animal problem: 300 block of Brady Loop Road East, Montesano. 11:56 a.m. Reporting party says neighbor is improperly disposing of deceased cattle.

Violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act: First block of Keys Road, Satsop. Unattended, locked vehicle found with clear plastic container inside vehicle that appears to be drugs. Vehicle towed to Sheriff’s Office evidence storage facility.

Agency assist: Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, Montesano. 8:28 p.m. Search team needed in Mason County for 4-year-old child and adult male missing for 8 hours. Twenty ground searchers and 4x4s sought. Also requests four bloodhounds.

Dec. 25

Recovered stolen vehicle: First block of Devonshire Road, Montesano. 9:40 a.m. Newer box van parked at landing. Unknown how long it has been there. Vehicle turned over to owner’s sister.

Agency assist: Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, Montesano. 10:53 p.m. Mason County requests resources for search for two males, ages 27 and 15 years, in Grapeview area.

Dec. 27

Theft: First block of Porter Creek Road, Oakville. 12:50 p.m. Reporting party states collectible stamps were taken.

Dec. 28

Agency assist: U.S. Highway 12 eastbound at milepost 14, Montesano. 7 a.m. Washington State Patrol trooper requests aid for driver having an asthma attack.

Attempt to locate: Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, Montesano. 8:08 a.m. Thurston County Sheriff’s Department requests officers be on the lookout for stolen white 2017 Nissan Sentra last seen westbound on U.S. Highway 12 near Oakville.

Agency assist: U.S. Highway 12 at milepost 18, Satsop: 5:15 p.m. Washington State Patrol requests multiple units to help with detention. Woman refusing to exit vehicle. WSP has one detained with injuries, requests aid.

Dec. 29

Malicious mischief: (Address withheld), Elma. 4:25 p.m. Suspect punched out light on reporting party’s vehicle. Unknown weapons. Request aid for lacerations on hand. One in custody for assault, domestic violence, malicious mischief.

Suspicious vehicle: Wynooche Valley Road at milepost 1, Montesano. 12:37 p.m. Vehicle found in woods. Information passed to Forest Service.

Dec. 30

Theft: First block of Tornow Drive, Montesano. 11:07 a.m. Reporting party states submersible water pump and wiring were taken from his property within past few days.

Suspicious vehicle: 4900 block of Wynooche Valley Road, Montesano. 12:37 p.m. Vehicles found dumped in woods. Information passed to Forest Service.

Dec. 31

Agency assist: (Address redacted), Oakville. 7:41 p.m. Agency requests help checking on 1-month-old baby for possible neglect. Baby had fallen of the bad past 2 days and now seems lethargic. Mother took baby to hospital but left before baby was examined. Nursing staff says baby was very dirty and mother left against providers’ advice.

Jan. 1

Accident: U.S. Highway 12 and Monte-Brady Road, Montesano. 1:42 p.m. Two vehicles off the highway. Witness says Honda Civic turned in front of Saturn, which was westbound on U.S. 12. Injuries reported.

Firework complaint: Capitol Ridge Road and Campion Road, Oakville. 2:39 a.m. Loud fireworks, explosions, coming from the Capitol Ridge Road area. Ongoing for over an hour.

Theft: First block of Couch Road, 11: 22 a.m. Reporting party states registration and 15 gallons of gas stolen from vehicle. Doesn’t know when it occurred.

Agency assist: 1000 block of Monte-Elma Road, Satsop. 2:51 a.m. Camper trailer on fire. Unknown if occupied. No vehicles nearby. Fire threatening some trees. Trailer is fully engulfed in fire
