Aug. 6

Check welfare: 700 block of East Main Street, Elma. 4:36 a.m. Driver reported slumped over. Department of Corrections felony warrant confirmed. Chehalis Tribe of Indians jail says they can hold. One taken into custody. Chehalis jail won’t take subject because subject is on Suboxone. Department of Corrections cannot come get him. Subject released.

Vehicle prowl: 300 block of eastbound State Route 8 (rest area), Elma. 7:22 p.m. Reporting party requests contact concerning a window smashed and laptop taken from vehicle. Occurred after 5 p.m.

Found child: 1000 block of Brook Drive, Montesano. 6:06 p.m. Three-year-old male walked into residence. Unknown who he is, where he lives. Dad just came an picked up the child. Child had wandered off from his residence down the street. Police checked with family.

Animal problem: First block of Meadow Lark Road, Montesano. 9:11 p.m. Reporting party requests call referencing getting neighbor’s bull out of her yard. Bull has now eaten all the hay for her goats. Her goats will have no hay now until next week. Bull’s owner retrieved animal and said she would replace the hay.

Aug. 7

Burglary in progress: 200 block of Upper Falls Creek Road, Elma. 3:39 a.m. Reporting party is upstairs, says there are people in her home holding her husband. Unknown number of people. Reporting party says she thinks they are coming in the door. Officer on scene. Mental health issue. Husband says he will watch her and advise her primary care doctor.

Traffic hazard: 5400 block of State Route 12, Milepost 26, Malone. 4:48 a.m. Lumber reported in roadway. Washington State Patrol requests Elma Police Department send a unit to check. Traffic backing up. Large section of guardrail broken. Reports of people picking up the lumber.
