Hello everybody, welcome to Dog Dayz.
April just got us one month closer to summer break, and the excitement is building. While it seemed like spring still had not come, we finally got some sun. Keep it coming. I hope you all had a great month.
The month for me, started off with spring break in Palm Springs, Calif. The weather was amazing and I ended up getting a great tan that lasted about two weeks.
I got lots of swimming in, which is a must have in the 90-degree weather. Another nice thing about Palm Springs is there are really good restaurants to take advantage of.
An awesome part of the trip was having my friend over along with his family to swim and watch the college basketball national championship. It wasn’t quite the same as it was last year when we watched it live in Phoenix, but still fun.
I had to come back earlier than usual because of baseball, but many people didn’t go anywhere, so I am lucky for the time I got in paradise. Of course all the baseball games got rained out over the break, so everyone came back for practice. Good thing I love baseball.
My team is currently 14-1, undefeated in league, and on a 13-game winning streak. We believe we are capable of winning state and we are getting better and better as the year goes on.
We are ranked fourth in state in polls and are playing like it. If all goes well we won’t lose a game for the rest of the year.
Fastpitch is also rocking a one-loss season and have to be one of the favorites to win it all. They are hitting home runs night in and night out, and have great pitching. As spring sports are slowly coming to an end, there are many teams and athletes who have chances to be state champions. Good luck to all the sports.
This month I ran for ASB office, and won the communications position. This will of course make me a busier man, but what’s new? I will read the morning announcements every day next year, and will be a part of anything related to the school, which will be a lot, but I am excited. This should also look fairly good on my resume, because I want to study communications in college and eventually become a sports broadcaster. All in all this is a great thing for me to do, and I am glad I decided to go for it.
I also got elected to be an officer for FCA which is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Being an officer means bringing more and more people into the club and to lead bible studies sometimes on our Friday morning bible studies. I lead my first one ever this month and I talked about attitude. I spoke on how good attitudes can create a great atmosphere for teams or in life.
That is what FCA is about: balancing your life with your athletics, but letting God have control in both aspects. We have a great group of people, and are expanding each week. It is probably the most important club or class I can take in school, so I am honored to be an officer. I look forward to what the future holds for this club and for my personal growth from it.
Finally, this month I got my braces off which feels amazing. I’m a whole new guy.
I had sophomore testing at school which was pretty hard, but I will graduate. The Mariners also started up, and well, even though I have never lived to see them in the playoffs, they’re important to me and I am a fan no matter what. Anyway, enjoy the last full month of the school year and enjoy the sun in Washington.
