Dr. Seuss Day and other spring happenings

The Simpson Scoop

On March 2, Simpson Elementary School hosted a Bulldog Awards Assembly and the following students were selected by teachers around the school for having integrity: Lincoln H., Alivia M., Ryan R., Daniel T., Kymberlie L., Sailor B., Maddison R., Levi W., Cruz V., Shaila P., Colton W., Max P., Lainey M., Leighton S., Katelynn A., Kole K., Madi V., Leilah J. and Terek G.

Also, Mr. Cady (our principal) dressed up as The Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2. The assembly was filled with Dr. Seuss trivia. Students enjoyed the silliness of it all.

After school on Monday, March 2, Simpson hosted an after school reading “lock in” for the sixth grade to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Teachers sent permission slips home with their students if they wanted to come to the gathering. There was pizza, reading, games and more fun. Lots of sixth graders came to this event and enjoyed it.

Simpson’s Associated Student Body team planned to host a bake sale during the Beacons Book Fair. However, the governor has canceled all school activities in the state until April 24 (at the earliest!). We’ll see you next month.
