Monte Fire: Come see where tax dollars go

Open house will show public new equipment, including engine and ambulances.

The Montesano Fire Department is planning a party.

Chief Corey Rux invites residents to the station May 1 for an open house so Harborites can see where money approved in a levy effort has been spent.

“Thanks to the overwhelming community support we’ve been able to acquire two new ambulances, a new fire engine, personal protective clothing and new monitor/defibrillators,” a release from the fire department states. “This equipment is critical to effectively and safely provide emergency services to the citizens of Montesano.”

The release says there also will be hot dogs and refreshments. And firefighters and medical staff will be on hand to answer questions.

The new rigs will be on display.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. May 1 at the fire station at 310 E. Pioneer Ave.
