The general election will be held on Nov. 8. Voting closes at 8 p.m.

The Vidette will have gone to press by the time preliminary results are announced at about 8:15 p.m., however same-day coverage will be posted to the The Vidette’s website, www.thevidette.com.

As of Tuesday, Nov. 1, the office of Secretary of State announced that more than 1 million ballots (nearly 24 percent of all ballots) had been submitted. In Grays Harbor County, 11,810 ballots had been returned, representing 29.4 percent of the more than 40,000 ballots sent out out to voters.

Jefferson County, with 24,316 voters, had the highest return percentage of all the counties statewide at 39 percent as of Tuesday morning. Snohomish County, with more than 453,000 voters, had the lowest return at 16.8 percent.
