Master Gardner’s first Saturday on Oct. 1

Learn about late-season produce and seed-saving.

WSU Master Gardeners will be hosting a first Saturday workshop on Oct. 1.

The workshop will be held 10 a.m.-noon at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds pavilion annex near the Master Gardener demonstration garden.

The workshop’s topic is “Learning about late-season produce and seed saving.”

During the program, participants will hear about growing vegetables and flowers perfect for late-season harvesting. Seeds will be saved from flowers, and participants can take seeds home for their own gardens.

A new regular first Saturday feature beginning in October is “Making garden mythology mulch.” Hear what gardening myths may not be the best ideas for the garden.

There is no pre-registration, and the program is free.
