• Stone Soup Artists open mic, last Saturday of the month, 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at Charlie’s Sports Bar in Montesano (313 S. Main St.). For 21 and older.

• Stone Soup Artists open mic, every Tuesday, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Organics 101 Market in Montesano (316 S. Main St.). Unplugged acoustic originals.

• Bilingual Storytime. Thursdays, 4 – 4:30 p.m. at Elma Timberland Library. Both Spanish speakers and English speakers are encourage to attend.

Entertainment

• The Dukes of Swing will hold a dance at 7 p.m. at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge (1712 S. Boone St.). The dance is free and open to the public.

Friday, Sept. 30

Events

• The Montesano Chamber of Commerce presents Fish &Brew Fest at Fleet Park from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. UW Huskies game, cornhole tournament, local beers, wine, food, live music and vendors. Register for Saturday’s clipped fin fishing derby. Tickets for the beer garden are $15 and include a commemorative glass.

• The Montesano Kiwanis Club presents a spaghetti feed from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Montesano Methodist Church (401 E. Spruce). Dinner is $7 for singles and $25 for families. Funds raised go toward scholarships.

Saturday, Oct. 1

Events

• The Montesano Chamber of Commerce presents clipped fin fishing derby. Weigh-ins from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Montesano Farm and Home. Cash prizes include $1,000 for first, $300 for second and $200 for third. Registration fee is $20. All ages welcome. Must follow all Washington fishing laws and regulations, including valid fishing license.

• Schafer Meadows Fiber Arts Festival at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds (Elma) from Oct. 7-11. In addition to supplies and finished fiber-related goods for sale, several vendors will also be selling equipment at this year’s event. An alpaca show takes place in conjunction. Admission is free.
