Bighill makes big plays for Saints

Montesano High School graduate shows well in NFL preseason game

CARSON, Calif. — Montesano High School graduate Adam Bighill intercepted a pass with 36 seconds remaining, sealing New Orleans’ 13-7 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in a National Football League preseason game Sunday.

Listed as a third-team outside linebacker for the Saints, Bighill had a productive game with three solo tackles and an assist.

He ranged far downfield to make a leaping interception on Los Angeles’ final play. It was New Orleans’ first preseason victory in three years.

“It’s a great feeling to make a play and end the game,” he told reporters afterward.

The 28-year-old Bighill is attempting to make the Saints as an NFL rookie after six seasons with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League. He was a four-time CFL all-star.
