Nellie Annie Pullar of Montesano passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Nellie Annie Pullar of Montesano passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was 73. Nellie was born in Aberdeen, Wash., on Jan. 31, 1945 to Joseph and Lillian (Sellers) Vessey. Nellie lived in Grays Harbor her whole live but called Montesano her hometown.

She was an active member of the Montesano Moose Lodge #1210 and Fraternal Order of the Elma Eagles #1440. Nellie loved socializing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening, embroidery, and painting ceramics.

Nellie was the long time owner/operator of the Brady Food Mart and a partner of Playhouse Tavern for many years. She also managed an apartment complex for some time.

Nellie is survived by her children Leo (Dawn) Pullar of Quechee, Vt., Sadie (Jason) Knapp of Montesano, Wash. and Sonja (Lonnie) Clark of Tenino, Wash.; brother Joe (Debbie) Vessey of Olympia, Wash.; sisters Betty (Chuck) Kullander of Elma, Wash. and Janet Bjorke of Montesano, Wash.; along with five grandchildren and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Vessey and brother Herbert Vessey.

A celebration of Nellie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the Elma Eagles, 404 W Young St.
