The Montesano Band program recently reported that Hero Winsor has been selected to the Washington Music Educators Association’s All-State Concert Band on French horn.

Outstanding high school music students from throughout Washington are selected to participate in one of WMEA’s 2018 All-State performing groups. Winsor will join other high school student musicians in the event.

WMEA All-State high school bands, orchestras, and choirs will meet in Yakima Feb. 15-18. More than 2,000 students applied for this opportunity. From those, 1,030 of the state’s finest high school musicians will rehearse and perform in concert under the direction of world-renowned conductors. WMEA All-State musicians were selected through auditions to participate.

Many professional musicians have credited their All-State experience as crucial in their decision to choose music as a career, according to a statement from WMEA.
