Monte wins lone tennis match

Non-league dual meet with Three Rivers Christian on April 18

Jordan Daniels and Corrina Zapata used the momentum from a strong first set to win the No. 2 doubles match, 4-1, and give Montesano its lone match win in a non-league dual meet with Three Rivers Christian on April 18.

Daniels-Zapata knocked off Ali Carns-Abbie McCracken, 6-3, 7-6 (3), and had to rally from a 5-1 deficit in the second set to force a tiebreaker.

“That was a very nice win; they were dominant in the first set and (Carns-McCracken) came out with a better second set,” Montesano head coach Teresa Helland said. “We’ve had more matches than practices outside this year.”
