The Montesano Bulldogs dropped two golf matches recently, to Seton Catholic and Kalama.

Nate Kutch fired a 38 in soggy conditions to lead Seton Catholic past Montesano in a Southwest Washington 1A League match on Oct. 6, at Oaksridge Golf Course, in Elma.

Payson Parker shot a 41 and Matthew Plato a 44 for the Bulldogs.

“Payson had a really solid round today, especially considering the conditions,” Monte coach Lloyd Aldrich commented.

Hayden Johnson carded a 39 as Kalama beat Montesano in a Southwest Washington 1A League matchup on Oct. 4, at the Lewis River Golf Course in Kalama.

Noah Quinn topped Montesano with a 46. The Bulldogs, however, suffered from putting woes.

“The greens really gave the kids fits today,” Aldrich said. “We had a couple of four-putts and even a five-putt, so that makes it tough to score. Also, the playing conditions were less than ideal.”
