Montesano’s transition offense was fed by its pressure defense and Tenino turnovers in an Evergreen 1A League contest on Friday, Jan. 6. The Bulldogs defeated the Beavers, 64-17.
Sam Winter led all scorers with 13 points, five assists and five steals for the Bulldogs (1-0, 7-5). Trevor Ridgway added 10 points and five steals and Nick Chapman scored 10 points.
“We were able to get up quickly,” Montesano head coach Doug Galloway said. “We put pressure on them and that led to early steals and opportunities for us. We did a good job of pushing the bal up and created turnovers.”
On Wednesday, Jan. 11, Montesano traveled to rival Elma. The results of that game were not available when The Vidette went to press.
