Eagles top Spartans 11-5

Weather plagues May 4 game

Playing in between breaks due to lightning and wet weather, Elma finished off its Evergreen 1A League schedule with an 11-5 win over Forks at the Ventron Complex in Elma on May 4.

Kaylee Rambo led the Eagles with three hits, including a double and five RBI, at the plate. Peyton Elliott added two RBI on two hits, including a double.

In the circle, Quin Mikel and Corrina Torres got their work in against the Spartans, who smacked 11 hits. Mikel struck out eight and walked one in three innings of work for the win.

“We were lucky to get it in with the weather; we switched over to the junior varsity field to finish it,” Elma head coach Roger Elliott said. “We tried to get everyone in.”
