Bulldogs win in five

VANCOUVER — Roaring back from a two-set deficit, Montesano outlasted Seton Catholic, 18-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-16, 15-4, in a non-league match Sept. 21 at Vancouver.

The Bulldogs (3-3) dominated the final three sets.

“We changed the lineup a little and we got motivated,” Monte coach Renee Volz explained.

McKenna Miller led Bulldog hitters with 12 kills, while Mylaina Parker and Emma Jensen added five apiece. Setter Hannah Hatcher also came up with 23 digs, while Carley Bradbury had 100 percent serving.

The Bulldogs won the JV match, 25-1, 25-16. Wishkah’s varsity beat Monte’s C squad, 25-18, 25-17, 25-19.

Montesano will open Evergreen 1A League play at rival Elma on Tuesday.
