Mark Alan Kirkwood passed away peacefully with his family Monday, March 5, 2018, in Olympia, Wash.

He was born Feb. 1, 1954, in Aberdeen, Wash. to John H. Kirkwood Jr. and Dolores (Bostwick) Kirkwood.

Mark was born and raised in Aberdeen, Wash. where he attended elementary school, before moving to Montesano, Wash. to attend high school. After high school, he worked for several different logging outfits, Papac, Aubunchon, and Tagman to name a few.

He worked both in Grays Harbor as well as Alaska falling timber. He retired from his logging career to work construction for several years before retiring with the labors union.

Mark had a big heart and always greeted you with a big hug and smile. He had a passion for riding motorcycles, playing his guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, The honorable Judge, John H. Kirkwood Jr. superior court Judge of Grays Harbor in Montesano, Wash.

He is survived by his mother Dolores Kirkwood; brother Rob (Jodi) Kirkwood; sister Ann (Jay) Pearson, nephews Drew and Matthew. He had four children: daughter Jamie (Ryan) Cutshaw and three sons Bryan Kirkwood of West Hollywood, Calif., Denny Kirkwood of Bellevue, Wash. and Jayson (Krista) Kirkwood of Olympia, Wash. and five grandchildren he adored, Camryn, Trevan, Ireland, Harper, and Emerson; as well as many other relatives dear to him.

There will be a celebration of life held Saturday, March 31, at the Moose Lodge in Montesano, Wash. from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. We look forward to hearing how Mark touched your life. Donations can be made in Marks name to the charity of your choice.
