Man with local ties graduates from military training

Air Force Airman Jesse M. L. Peterson graduated July 14 from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Airman Peterson was with the 324th Training Squadron, Flight 505.

He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Peterson is the son of Nea (Peterson) Rice of Shelby, Montana, and the grandson of Robert Peterson of Montesano. In 2013, the airman graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima.
