Trailer burns in Satsop fire

Grays Harbor Fire District 5 and other agencies doused a fire in Satsop early on Monday, April 2.

District 5 was dispatched to the fully engulfed trailer fire at the 200 block of S. 5th St. in Satsop at about 2 a.m. Fire District 2 and the Elma Fire Department also were dispatched.

The first engine on the scene was Fire District 2 from Brady. Fire District 5 was the second unit to arrive and took command of the scene.

Two people had evacuated the trailer before fire personnel arrived.

A 40-year-old Satsop woman was treated for facial burns at the scene. The male occupant was uninjured.

The fire was started while changing a propane tank bottle. The bottle started to leak and spray near a heat source.

In total, 10 agency apparatus and 15 personnel responded to the fire.

Fire units cleared the scene at about 4 a.m.
