Aug. 14
Hit and run accident non-injury. 1200 block Monte Elma Road. 6:01 a.m. One car and property collision. Occupant(s) of vehicle had fled the scene. Vehicle left the roadway then traveled across a ditch and through a chain-link fence.
Aug. 15
Burglary report. 100 block N. 3rd St. 2:02 p.m. Reported burglary to the equipment on property. Reporting party believes he left the door open and that the incident occurred within the last few days. Among the burglarized items were a weed eater, multi-tool drill and a set of drill bits.
Aug. 16
Vehicle theft. 400 block W. Main St. 7:47 a.m. Male subject sleeping in vehicle at campus parking lot. Vehicle had not been reported stolen. Officer contacted the owner who said that no one has permission to use the vehicle and that it must have been stolen.
Fight not DVA. S. 3rd St. and W. Waldrip St. 5:55 p.m. On officer’s arrival was flagged down by numerous people saying the suspect ran through the south alley. Advised the suspect was wearing jeans and an Elma Eagles shirt. Suspect walked out into street and was almost hit by a car after which he took a grocery bag full of beer and tried to hit the driver through the car’s open window. Driver exited the vehicle and punched the suspect. Suspect then left through the alley.
