Oct. 18

Assault. 100 block E. Young St. 2:56 a.m. Very intoxicated and agitated man said he was assaulted by neighbor. Neighbor, who was sober, said man became agitated by truck parked in front of his garbage can. Man challenged a deputy on scene to a fight. Apparent he was the aggressor; however a physical altercation does not appear to have taken place.

Theft. 1000 block Oakhurst Drive. 2:14 p.m. When moving from apartment, left a rocking chair on porch to retrieve later. Chair was gone and other tenants said neighbor took it. Made contact with neighbor who said the rocking chair was a gift from husband’s friend. After photographing chair and showing picture to reporting party, who said it was hers, chair was returned.

Theft. 100 block N. Second St. 5:38 p.m. Woman picking her flowers.

Oct. 19

Juvenile problem. 800 block W. Main St. 10:05 a.m. Possible alcohol brought on campus by student. Container did not smell like alcohol and PBT did not detect alcohol.

Oct. 21

Information report. 1000 block W. Main St. 11:10 a.m. Drill team would like to use a drone to film themselves during a football game and have questions regarding legality.

Suspicious person/circumstance. N. F and E. Young streets. 10:28 p.m. Man standing on corner for past hour. Looks like he is walking away and then returns. Gone upon arrival.

Oct. 22

Suspicious person/circumstance. Main and Fourth streets. 2:35 a.m. Unconscious man in truck. Observed an open beer bottle in center console. Attempted to wake driver by knocking and announcing “Police” twice. Driver awoke. Smelled of intoxicating beverages. When asked how many drinks he had, he answered, “18 beers.” After conducting field sobriety test, man was arrested and booked into Grays Harbor County Jail.

Oct. 27

Controlled substance problem. 1000 W. Main St. 10:34 a.m. Contacted by school regarding a can of soda which may have been laced with marijuana. Students had shared soda and reported feeling sick and high. Beverage tested negative for all drugs.

Oct. 28

Citizen assist. 1300 block W. Martin St. 1:21 a.m. Can’t find keys and is unable to gain access to locked apartment. Is asking for help finding keys. Searched apartment and unable to locate but reporting party later located keys.

Suspicious person/circumstance. 500 block N. 11th St. Vehicle broken down in roadway. Contacted vehicle owner and advised to move vehicle. He complied.

Suspicious person/circumstance. 500 block E. Main St. Man in bathroom making all kinds of grunting noises. Unknown what he is doing but sounds concerning. Not comfortable knocking on door to find out what’s wrong.

Assault. 900 block W. Young St. 10:52 p.m. Minor assault between residents. Subjects were calling each other names and one poked the other in the shoulder with his index finger.

Oct. 29

Trespassing. 100 block E. Young St. 11:27 a.m. Found evicted tenant sleeping in garage. Was advised she would be arrested if found at location again.

Trespassing. 500 block W. Waldrip St. Request check of two subjects at church. Made contact with two subjects who said they had nowhere to sleep. Asked if permission given to sleep at church and was told no. They agreed to move along.

Oct. 30

Fireworks. 800 block N. Third St. 1:35 a.m. Several large fireworks set off. No citations issued but advised party to stop.

Oct. 31

Traffic hazard. 4600 block US 12. 9:34 a.m. Oil spillage under overpass.

Motorist assist. 300 block W. Main St. 1:44 p.m. Motorist locked herself out of vehicle and baby is inside. Able to unlock driver’s side and open door.

Nov. 1

Suspicious person/circumstance. N. Tenth and W. Young streets. 1:53 a.m. Person walking down street, carrying something very heavy. Contacted known subject who was carrying a sliding glass door from the trash.

Liquor violation. 800 block W. Main St. 11:58 a.m. A beverage was confiscated from a student and is suspected of being alcohol. Did not smell like alcohol and tested negative for alcohol.

Malicious mischief. N. 13th and W. Martin streets. Mailbox knocked down. Mailbox looked like it was run over.
