Recent calls received by the Elma Police Department

January. 21

Suspicious person/circumstance. 100 block W Garden Hill Rd. 12:10 a.m. Required check of the area. Believed to hear 15-20 gunshots. Not as reported, possible fireworks.

Malicious mischief. 1200 block W Main St. 9:18 a.m. Tire and rim taken off of vehicle, replaced with a different tire and rim. Noises were heard outside at approximately 11:30 p.m. the previous night, the individual making the complaint did not investigate. The same individual claims there may have been gunshots in the area around the time of the incident, but they were not called and reported. Extra patrols have been scheduled for the area.

Harassment. 1200 block W. Anderson St. 3:24p.m. Individual referenced being harassed on social media. Caller did not want the Officer speaking with the other party, but was instead looking for options. Was instructed on how to obtain a Civil Anti-Harassment Order.

Theft. 1400 block W. Martin St. 3:25 p.m. Multiple items missing from residence since 2013, including a shop vac, though has gone unreported. Most recently a beef roast and a pork roast valued at approximately $150 has gone missing. The individual has been advised to purchase surveillance cameras.

Disorderly Conduct. 100 block W. Main St. 10:48 p.m. White male with one shoe yelling into the air. Was advised to keep the noise down and move along.

Jan. 22

Animal problem. 600 block W. Young St. 9:50 a.m. Neighbor’s dog not allowing individual to exit vehicle. Officer made contact with owner of dog, informed owner about the leash law in the city limits. The owner then secured the dog.

Sex offense. N. 2 St/W. Main St. 11:31 a.m. Male sitting on bench with pants down. Pants were not down upon Officer’s arrival. Individual stated his pants were never down.

Disorderly conduct. N 3 St./W. Main St. 3:26 p.m. Officer received numerous calls about an individual exposing himself to passing traffic. Individual’s pants were up, but were unbuttoned and unzipped. Individual was placed under arrest and was transported to the Chehalis Tribal Jail.

Jan. 23

Agency assistance. 400 block E. Young. 12:45 a.m. Illegal burn at location. Multiple couches, a mattress and other items were fully engulfed by the time of Officer’s arrival. Elma Fire Department arrived at the scene and put out the fire without incident.

Malicious mischief. 400 block W. Eaton St. 12:26 p.m. Individual attempted to break into caller’s rental property. 2 broken windows were found upon Officer’s arrival, with the outer pane of glass broken on both windows. There was no entry into the residence. Value of windows is estimated at $300. No suspect information available.

Traffic accident w/ damage. 400 block W. Main St. 3:22 p.m. Vehicle hit pedestrian, then fled the scene. Victim refused medical treatment, claimed no injuries.

Jan. 24

Theft from vehicle. 600 block W. Anderson St. 8:17 p.m. Vehicle was open. No sign that anyone had been inside.

Jan. 25

Traffic accident w/ injuries. 300 block S. 5 St. 12:01 p.m. Vehicle in question never actually hit the individual, rather the individual jumped out of the way to avoid being hit as the vehicle backed out of a parking space. Aid arrived shortly after and was informed of the situation.

Animal problem. 100 block N. 3 St. 3:05 p.m. Yellow Lab mix with blue collar brought in, was found somewhere on Young St.

Jan. 26

Agency assistance. 400 block N. 13 St. 12:08 a.m. Request to remove roommate from residence, roommate punched caller in the back. Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and took roommate into custody.

Accident/blocking. N 4 St./W. Main St. 7:46 a.m. Two vehicle non-blocking collision. Garbage truck backed into a parked vehicle. Vehicle had damage done to the driver’s side rear taillight assembly and quarter panel. Vehicle was unoccupied.

Animal problem. 100 block N. 1 St. 11:08 a.m. Stray dog, female Shih Tzu missing left eye, no collar.

Burglary. 1400 block W. Young St. 11:54 a.m. Residents noticed house was broken into with items missing. No additional information.

Burglary. 1400 block W. Young St. 3:53 p.m. People inside an abandoned house.
