Recent calls received by the Elma Police Department

Feb. 10

Welfare check. 400 block W. Anderson St. 5:11 p.m. Individual not answering from behind locked door. Upon gaining entrance, female found on the ground unresponsive but breathing. Aid arrived shortly after and treated the individual.

Feb. 11

Trespassing. 600 block E. Main St. 2:40 a.m. Individual on the helipad. Requested he move along.

Threatening. 100 block E. Young St. 1:13 p.m. Reporting party says man is making threats. The male entered the reporting party’s residence, and has been asked to leave.

Citizen dispute. 600 block N. 13 St. 2:20 p.m. Reporting party says a friend borrowed her dark blue 1999 Ford Explorer w/ permission. Individual said they would be back shortly, but has failed to return. Reporting party’s roommate may have seen the individual in the Central Park area.

Suspicious person/circumstance. S. 2nd St. at W. Eaton St. 3:50 p.m. Reporting party believes someone may be camping in the alley, as there is a tarp, clothes and a duffle bag.

Feb. 12

Weapon offense. Elma. 8:39 p.m. Reporting party says neighbors were outside passing around what appeared to be a long gun. The gun was not pointed in the direction of people, but caller did not feel safe as the individuals are believed to be drug users. Individuals returned inside shortly after.

Feb. 13

Citizen dispute. 600 block N. 13 St. 10:08 a.m. Reporting party says car that was borrowed by friend six days ago has still not been returned. Shortly after the initial report the vehicle was returned.

Suspicious person/circumstance. 100 block S. 3rd St. 5:12 p.m. Appeared that two males were trying to break into a residence. Was a family member of the owner changing the locks.

Hit and run property damage. 600 block E. Main St. 7:16 p.m. Blue Focus backed in to the reporting party and then drove away. Reporting party is following the vehicle.

Feb. 14

Theft. 200 block N. F Street. 3:56 a.m. Two subjects found loading railroad ties onto a flatbed trailer. Individual stated they had permission from the property owner to scavenge the ties. One of the subjects fled on foot, while the other remained at the scene. The subject’s story was later verified.

Weapon offense. 513 N. 2nd St. 11:01 p.m. Reporting party heard for the past 90 minutes what sounds like either gunfire or fireworks in the distance. Nobody was seen around.

Feb. 15

Fireworks. N 3 St. at W. Mill St. 8:04 a.m. Reporting party heard fireworks going off the previous night, did not report it until the morning. Was advised that next time the report should be made while the incident is happening.

Theft-automobile. 200 block E. Main St. 1:56 p.m. Vehicle taken within the last two hours. Dark blue 1993 Honda Accord.

Found property. 100 block N. 3rd St. 3:11 p.m. Set of keys with a school bus keychain was left on an individual’s doorstep. One of the keys is for a Chevrolet.

Feb. 16

Agency assistance. 700 block N. 3rd St. 5:17 a.m. Small fire spotted alongside building, building in danger on the north side.

Suspicious person/circumstance. 1000 block W. Young St. 11:42 a.m. Alley window’s screen had been removed. Residence is vacant.
