Oregon man dies in fatal crash near Elma

The 21-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

An Oregon man was killed in a fatal crash between Elma and McCleary on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 10.

Devon D. Miller, 21, died after being ejected from the vehicle he was driving, a 2004 Chevy Tahoe, at just after 4:30 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol incident report.

Miller was driving west toward Elma on Washington State Route 8 before driving through the median cable barrier and rolling the vehicle, according to the report. Miller was not wearing his seat belt, according to the incident report. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, said Trooper Katherine Weatherwax in a phone interview. No other vehicles were involved, according to the incident report.
