No shots fired during Shafer Park altercation Tuesday

An incident Tuesday afternoon at Schafer State Park that was initially reported on social media as a shooting turned out to be an altercation between two individuals, involving no gunfire, according to sources at the Mason and Grays Harbor County sheriff’s offices.

Mason County Undersheriff Travis Adams said there was an incident at the park that resulted in some sort of confrontation between two parties. He said one Mason County unit was dispatched to the scene to assess the situation.

Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Brad Johansson said they were initially called to assist but were immediately called off. No shots were fired, he said.
