Monte teen works as page at Legislature

A teenager from Montesano recently spent a week working and going to school at the Capitol in Olympia.

Alex Snow, who is home-schooled by his parents, Jeff and Teresa Snow of Montesano, worked as a page in the state House of Representatives. He was sponsored by 19th Legislative District Rep. Jim Walsh (R-Aberdeen).

“It was an honor to sponsor Alex as a page,” Walsh said in a release. “The experience of working at the state Capitol and learning about the legislative process often inspires students to a lifetime of civic engagement. Perhaps one day Alex will serve in local or state government.”

Alex, 15, enjoys going to church, watching football and hip hop dance, according to the release from Walsh’s office. “While working as a House page, he attended school every day to understand the operations and actions of the Legislature.”
