McCleary museum work begins

Workers recently stabilized the chimney at the new home of the McCleary Historical Society. The former home of the United Methodist Church was damaged in the 2001 Nisqually Earthquake. The bricks of the chimney were encased and stabilized, and a chimney topper was added to keep the rain out. “It is now a solid chimney and should last a long time,” columnist Linda Thompson, who is a leader of the historical society, reported.
