Former Monte/Elma priest collapses during Mass in Tacoma

Not expected to survive

The Rev. Michael Wagner, the former priest of Montesano and Elma’s Catholic churches, collapsed last week while celebrating Mass in Tacoma.

The News Tribune reported that Wagner, 48, was celebrating the morning Mass at the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary when he suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm and was taken to a Tacoma hospital.

According to a short biography on www.holyrosarytacoma.org, doctors have advised Wagner likely will not survive the “irreversible brain hemorrhage.”

Wagner originally is from Poland.
