East County emergency responders to take part in drill

Multiple emergency responder agencies will take part in an emergency preparedness drill Wednesday at Summit Pacific Medical Center.

“Patient care and normal day to day operations will not be impacted, though patients and visitors may notice an increase in traffic to Summit Pacific facilities as well as mock patients with makeup depicting fake injuries,” a release from the hospital states.

Grays Harbor Fire District 5, Elma and Montesano fire departments, Grays Harbor Fairgrounds, county Emergency Management, and the county E-911 center also will take part in, what the release calls, a “full-scale incident response training.”

“Please do not be alarmed if you should see an influx of emergency response vehicles or hear alarms near the Summit Pacific campus as this is a controlled exercise,” the release from hospital Marketing and Communications Program Coordinator Nichole Pas says.
