Savor these sweet temptations, All Wrapped Up!

Bakery and café owner comes full circle in Montesano

From your morning mocha to a birthday cake perfectly sized for your personal bubble, an array of tempting possibilities awaits at Montesano’s All Wrapped Up.

Evolving from its humble beginnings – just like the best recipes – the café and bakery had its origins in 1997 when friends Judy Mawhorter and Monica Myers launched their home-based business filling beautiful gift baskets with all manner of delicious treats – including ready-to-make scones and cookies still on café shelves today!

Today, Judy’s passion for baking has brought her full circle, and customers couldn’t be happier.

Monica and husband Jeff expanded the basket business to a store-front café/bakery in 2002, before Josh and Heidi Loveall took the helm six years later. When the two were ready to retire from the café, Judy and husband Gary were keen to return to the business she’d helped launch more than 20 years before, adding more of the baking that Judy loves.

All Wrapped Up today

Closing for a month at the start of the pandemic, customers welcomed All Wrapped Up’s reopening May 1 – just in time for Judy and Gary’s second anniversary at the shop.

“We get a lot of the locals who come in for their regular cup of coffee, and love that we can get it ready for them without asking. It’s not quite like yelling ‘Norm!’ from Cheers, but it’s close!” Judy says with a laugh.

Today, the bakery boasts more than cookies, must-try cinnamon buns and scrumptious scones (two fresh-baked varieties in store everyday, plus dry mixes to bake up at home!)

Sweet treats, from beautifully decorated six-inch mini-cakes to grand wedding creations, are a passion that Judy loves sharing. “We recently had a customer bring in a photo of her parents’ wedding cake from years before that we were able to recreate for them. It’s wonderful to share in these happy occasions,” she says.

“And I love inspiring our young baristas to learn the science of baking and the creativity that comes with it.”

While the look of All Wrapped Up has evolved, it remains true to its focus on local food, lovingly prepared, and it will come as no surprise that a little of each owner continues with the café, like the cream cheese frosting topping those sought-after cinnamon rolls – Monica’s original recipe. “People just love that – it’s the bomb!”

Special event or just want to say thank you? Bakery batch orders, available Monday to Friday, make it easy to share a little sweetness, but be sure to place your orders by noon for next-day pick-up.

And yes, the All Wrapped Up team remains more than happy to create a unique gift basket for that special occasion!

Stop by today at 110E Pioneer Ave. and be sure to follow them on Facebook for the day’s latest temptations.
