Entertainment

• Stone Soup Artists songwriters workshop. Open to all local songwriters. Third Thursdays beginning Oct. 20, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Montesano Community Center. Featured songwriter presentation, group discussions and select individual work.

• Stone Soup Artists open mic, every Tuesday, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Organics 101 Market in Montesano (316 S. Main St.). Unplugged acoustic originals.

• A featured artist, duo or small group will perform at 9 p.m. every Thursday at Charlie’s Sports Bar in Montesano. To sign up as an artist, contact Wil Russoul, (360) 500-5334.

• Open pool table every Tuesday at the Elma Senior Center, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

Entertainment

• Monthly Coffee Club at Edward Jones at 211 S. Main St. in Montesano. 11 a.m.-noon.

• Daughters of the American Revolution meet at the United Methodist Church (5th and L streets, Hoquiam), at 12 p.m. Jane Ritchey will speak on the topic of “The Practical Spinner.” Visitors welcome. Lunch at 11:30 a.m. — please bring your own sack lunch.

• Schafer Meadows Fiber Arts Festival at the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds (Elma) from Oct. 7-11. In addition to supplies and finished fiber-related goods for sale, several vendors will also be selling equipment at this year’s event. An alpaca show takes place in conjunction. Admission is free. • The Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia State Parks presents the Schafer salmon bake, at the group camp hall, at Schafer Lake at 1 p.m. “Wild” salmon and beverages provided with $7 donation for adult guests and non-members. With a $15 membership, dinner is free. (Members please bring a side dish to share.) South Sound Story Guild provides the entertainment. A Discover Pass is required to park at the state park.

• The Elma Chamber of Commerce will host its annual “meet the candidates” luncheon, at noon at Stay Beyond Inn & Suites in Elma. Expected candidates are running for county commissioner, legislative districts 19 and 23, Superior Court, PUD commissioner and District Court. Lunch is provided for a $5 donation.
