Entertainment

• Stone Soup Artists songwriters workshop. Open to all local songwriters. Third Thursdays beginning Oct. 20, 7 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Montesano Community Center. Featured songwriter presentation, group discussions and select individual work.

• Stone Soup Artists open mic, every Tuesday, 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., at Organics 101 Market in Montesano (316 S. Main St.). Unplugged acoustic originals.

• A featured artist, duo or small group will perform at 9 p.m. every Thursday at Charlie’s Sports Bar in Montesano. To sign up as an artist, contact Wil Russoul, (360) 500-5334.

• Open pool table every Tuesday at the Elma Senior Center, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.

• Elma Senior Center hosts pinochle every Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.

Meetings

At the libraries

• Family Storytime. Wednesdays, 10:30-11 a.m. at Elma Timberland Library. Music, movement, and books for the whole family. All ages.

• Bilingual Storytime. Thursdays, 4 – 4:30 p.m. at Elma Timberland Library. Both Spanish speakers and English speakers are encourage to attend.

Entertainment

• Harbor Art Guild presents oil painting by Tina Atterbury Karvonen in her solo show entitled, “Where art thou?” The show runs through November 13 at Six Rivers Gallery (210 Sixth St., Hoquiam) and is open Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. A reception, with an opportunity to meet the artist will be held Sunday, Oct. 23, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit harborartguild.com.

• Matlock Grange 357 will host a hunters breakfast, 5 a.m. to noon. Also on Sunday, Oct. 16.

• The Jeremy Kittel Trio performs at the Bishop Center for Performing Arts in Aberdeen at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for students and 12 and younger free with paid adult admission. For more information, call (360) 538-4066.

• Grays Harbor Sons of Norway present a Scandinavian Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (717 Randall St., Aberdeen). Traditional crafts and baked goods.

• North Beach CERT presents Emergency Cooking and Disaster Preparedness Made Easy (season 2), at the conference center of Pacific Beach Resort (108 First Street North, Pacific Beach), 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how to prepare meals using emergency supplies and pantry items. The series runs every month and will feature different local chefs and provide emergency preparedness information. Admission is free.

• Summit Pacific Medical Center hosts “Building Healthy Connections Day” and a Peak Health Family 5K fun run. Registration (before Oct. 5) is free for kids 12 and under, $25 for those 12 and over and includes a t-shirt, or $10 without t-shirt. A $5 surcharge applies if registering the day of. Meetings

• Elma Little League will hold its annual board meeting for the election of 2017 board members at 6 p.m. at 10th Street Park. The meeting is open to the public and is an opportunity for volunteers to become involved.

• The McCleary United Methodist Church (Third and Oak streets) presents a Fall Dinner, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dinner is $8 per person. On the menu: baked ham, scalloped potatoes, homemade applesauce, veggies, dessert and beverage.

• Elma VFW Auxiliary presents Holiday Bingo, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Elma Grange (401 W. Waldrip Street). Everyone welcome, ages 5 and up. Bake sale and snack bar. Proceeds go toward assisting Christmas families.

• Montesano Chamber of Commerce honors the local agricultural community at the annual Farm City Dinner, with social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner following at 6 p.m. Event includes dinner, live music and recognition awards. Sponsor a farm family with a $40 donation. Tickets are $20 per person.
