• New Year’s Eve basket bingo at Elma High School at 4:30 p.m. Sponsored by Elma VFW Post 1948. A potluck will be held. Bring a dish to pass or $5 for dinner. Proceeds to support veterans programs.

Sunday, Jan. 1

• First Day Hike at Lake Sylvia State Park. A park ranger will lead an easy 2-mile hike along the trail that loops around Lake Sylvia. A volunteer from Friends of Schafer and Lake Sylvia will lead a shorter stroll. Meet at 1 p.m. at the park’s kitchen area.
