• A weekly weed pull will be held at Schafer State Park every Friday at 1 p.m. Bring gloves and tools. Dress for the woods and dress for the weather.

• Elma Senior Center hosts pinochle every Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m.

• Washington State Parks celebrates the National Park Service’s birthday with a free day. A Discover Pass is not required to visit a state park.

Friday, Aug. 26

Events

• The Montesano High School Cheer and Drill team presents the second annual spaghetti feed, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church (401 E. Spruce). Includes all-you-can-eat spaghetti, green salad and French bread. Vegetarian sauce and gluten-free noodles available. Cost is $20 per family or $5 per person. Funds raised help team members purchase new uniforms.

• The Robert Gray chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at the Polson Museum (1611 Riverside Avenue, Hoquiam) at 12 p.m., with a potluck lunch at 11:30 a.m. Sally Buckingham will be speaking on the topic of “the 56 signers.” Visitors are welcome.
