• Schafer Meadows Fiber Arts Guild holds a monthly meeting the second Wednesday of each month, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Elma. Bring a dish to pass. A potluck lunch will be held at noon. Open to the public.

At the libraries

• McCleary Timberland Library will host play groups for children birth to age 6 with an adult. Arrival and departure times are flexible. Wednesdays, 10:30- 11:30 a.m. through April 25.

• Elma Timberland Library presents family storytime Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30 a.m., through April 25. All ages. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. Bilingual storytime will run Thursdays, 4-4:30 p.m. through April 26.

• Montesano W. H. Abel Timberland Library presents Outdoor Storytime at the Satsop Bulb Farm (980 Monte-Elma Road in Elma), 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Music, movement and books for the whole family.

• Oakville Timberland Library presents Mushrooms, Motion and You, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. For adults and teens. Come enjoy a program on the new science of epigenetics with biologist and author Ellen King Rice as she connects our lives to our world on a cellular level.

• The North River Grange will hold a spring plant and seed exchange and potluck beginning at 6 p.m. A guest speaker will present about permaculture.

• The 1980 comedy “9 to 5” starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and dolly Parton will be shown at 7:30 p.m. at 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam. Tickets are $6. Also on Saturday, April 21, at the same time.

• Sharon Grange annual oyster feed, noon to 6 p.m. at Sharon Grange (912 South Bank Road, Oakville). Adult tickets are $20, children 12 and younger $15. Fried oyster, oyster stew, ham, coleslaw, coffee and pie.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents Saturday Matinees, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. All ages. Moving at the library on the big screen. Bring a comfy pillow and bottled water. Popcorn provided.

• Learn the less that the Watts family, third generation forestland owners, have learned over the course of managing their 70-acre tree farm. Topics covered include precommercial thinning, invasive species removal, restoration and road building. Noon to 2 p.m. at Watts Farm, 72 Tornquist Road in McCleary.

• Montesano W. H. Abel Memorial Timberland Library will host lunch for your brains noon-1 p.m. Dave Foscue will read from a cache of letters documenting his third great uncle Pud’s time in the Civil War.

• The Elma Citizens Award Recognition Banquet will be held at the Elma Eagles Bangquet Hall. Prime rib dinner, entertainment and silent auction.

• Jenny’s Joggers and Tom’s Trotters Relay for Life team will hold a garage and bake sale, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Country Estates Club House in Montesano (57 Clemons Road). Also at the same time on May 5.
