OCCU is Elma Chamber business of the quarter

OCCU has local branches in Montesano, Elma and McCleary

Our Community Credit Union (OCCU) was voted Elma Business of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2017 by the Elma Chamber of Commerce membership. The plaque awarded states, “presented to Our Community Credit Union for enhancement to Elma and support of the business community, Oct-Dec 2017.”

The award was accepted by Kristi Templeton, Grays Harbor Regional Branch Manager of OCCU. Templeton has been with OCCU for 17 years.

Our Community Credit Union’s Elma branch opened on March 29, 1999, and currently has seven full-time employees and one part-time employee. The Credit Union, formally Simpson Employees Federal Credit Union, celebrated its 75th anniversary in December 2017, with over 360 million in assets and recently opened their eighth branch at Steamboat Island. OCCU also operates branches in Shelton, Union, McCleary and Montesano, with more than 29,000 members. Anyone living, working, or attending school in Mason or Grays Harbor County are eligible to join the credit union.

Recently OCCU has completed a makeover of the outside of the Elma branch, and are in the process of developing a community/ inspirational wall within the branch.

Our Community Credit Union sponsors many youth sports and activities within Elma High School. OCCU will be working with EHS to put on the second Reality Fair. They recently purchased K-9 Tango for the GH Sherriff’s Dept. This was done to support our local Law Enforcement, and to improve safety in the community. OCCU also has sponsored Middle and High School’s building signage.
