MONTESANO — League-leading Montesano trounced undermanned Forks in an Evergreen 1A League contest on Oct. 5 at Rottle Field.

The Bulldogs (4-0, 9-1-1) agreed to play the Spartans in what amounted to an eight-on-eight exhibition, with the scoreboard turned off. No statistics were provided.

Bulldog coach Fidel Sanchez cited Forks for its hustle and the Spartan goalkeeper for her performance. He also credited his team with good sportsmanship.

“It was an eight-on-eight scrimmage,” Sanchez said. “The girls did their part. They were a class act, as I expected them to be.”
