Macey Wecker shot a 45 to lead Montesano past Hoquiam in a Southwest Washington 1A League match Thursday at Highland Golf Course.

Mylaina Parker added a 50 as the Bulldogs continued to show good early season form.

Bailey Smith and Jordan Cox led the young Grizzlies with 56s.

“We improved by more than 45 strokes from our first outing,” Hoquiam coach Patty Sundstrom noted. “Even though we aren’t where we should be right now, golf is all about personal improvement and every one of the girls improved. Montesano looked really good.”

Hoquiam visits rival Aberdeen on April 10. Montesano resumes action the following day at Capital.
