East County groups receive funding

Grays Harbor Community Foundation has invested more than $271,000 into the community

The Grays Harbor Community Foundation has invested more than $271,000 into the community through its Community Building Grants program.

The East County organizations that were funded through the discretionary grants program this cycle include:

Children’s Advocacy Center of Grays Harbor for preventive maintenance project, Friends of the Elma Timberland Library for Building Renovations, Montesano Youth Soccer for field development and lights and Port of Grays Harbor for Friends Landing playground equipment.

“As the foundation has continued to grow in the past several years, we wanted to make sure our awards grew as well,” said grants chairman Dr. Dave Westby. “This year, we condensed our grants program down to two cycles in order to accommodate larger-scale requests that make a higher impact on Grays Harbor.”
