Led by a hat trick from Brooke Sutherby, Elma defeated Chehalis in a non-league match at Davis Field on Monday, Sept. 19.

The Eagles (5-2) got the game-winning run in the 25th minute when Alicia Hook sent a cross on to Sutherby who fired it home from around 10 yards out.

Peyton Elliott added the next two goals for the Eagles. Elliott chipped home a shot from in close in the 31st minute and converted a penalty kick in the 42nd minute after a Chehalis handball in the box.

Sutherby added her other two goals in the second half with her second goal coming on a penalty kick in the 51st minute and capping the hat trick in the 66th minute.

“We have been working on our passing game most of the season and it has been getting better every game,” Elma coach Scott Rockey said. “We are moving the ball out of the defense and playing the midfield well. The girls are starting to click and things are happening.”

The Eagles won the JV game, 6-5.

ELMA — Elma started its weekend with a victory by knocking off Charles Wright in a non-league match at Davis Field on Saturday.
