Ruth Elizabeth Sackrider of Montesano passed away peacefully at Capital Medical Center in Olympia on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017. She was 86. Ruth was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Deer Lodge, Mont. to Leonard and Lucielle (Smith) Cutler. Ruth was raised in Deer Lodge and graduated from Powell County High School in 1948.

On July 20, 1973, Ruth married Ronald F. Sackrider. He survives her at the family home.

Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed writing letters to the editor weekly.

In addition to her husband Ronald, she is also survived by daughters, Alicia ( Brandon) Winkelman of Montesano; Susan Leibold of Aberdeen; Charlotte Matz of Arizona; five sons, Steve Berry of Tucson, Ariz.; Rick Berry of Wyoming; Mike Tholson of Wyoming; Rusty Whisler of Alaska; Tony Berry of Washington; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her brother Leonard Cutler; 3 sisters Gladys, Mickey and Alice Cutler.

A celebration of her life is planned for 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Montesano Moose Lodge.
