July 25

2200 block E. Beacon Ave. 2:05 a.m. Sheriff’s Office advised of an interrupted burglary at location. Two males cut the lock to one unit and dropped the items and went over the fence at the rear of the facility.

July 26

Report of prowler. 200 block N. Nelson St. Reporting party can hear someone outside house attempting to get into the back door by shaking the handle. Unknown if arrived on foot or by vehicle.

July 28

Report of fraud/blackmail. 800 block W. McBryde Ave. 1:09 p.m. Reporting party advised she received fraudulent calls from a local telephone number. Concerned as it was a local number. Advised reporting party that it is easy to use a phone changing program or application to change number to another number and these are not local calls.

Burglary in progress. 200 block S. Academy St. 11:46 p.m. Possible burglary. Reporting party saw three subjects standing by vacant house. Saw them light a cigarette but reporting party did not see anyone enter the residence. Officer checked doors and found it to be secure and the house empty.

Aug. 1

Animal problem. 500 block S. 5th St. 7:43 p.m. Friendly large male red pit bull and lab mix with no collar. Reporting party has walked around the neighborhood with dog, no one familiar. Dog placed into Grays Harbor Vet impound.

Wildlife animal problem. 700 block W. McBryde Ave. 8:32 p.m. Heard sounds of a bear grunting and moving through the brush.

Aug. 2

Traffic hazard. 200 block W. Pioneer Ave. 6:04 p.m. Intoxicated male falling in the roadway. Last seen wearing hat, sunglasses and gray vest. Drinking a Steele Reserve. Last seen on Pioneer in front of location.

Hazardous material. 700 block W. Marcy Ave. 2:07 p.m. Car dripping gas from gas cap.
