Grays Harbor County adding online payments

For Treasurer’s Office, more departments could come later

Grays Harbor County is slowly catching up with the technological advances of the past two decades. On Jan. 22, the Grays Harbor County commissioners approved an agreement that would set up an online payment system for utility customers.

The agreement approved would see Express Bill Pay establishing the online payment system. The county is paying $2,000 for startup fees.

“We’re trying to get into the 21st Century,” Commissioner Randy Ross joked.

The county also authorized the treasurer to contract with nCourt for county departments to accept credit card payments.

When asked how many county departments accept online payments, Commissioner Vickie Raines said, “There are very few (departments) currently that you can.”

“Going through this contract will allow other departments to join in,” Raines said.
