Bulldog Lanes closing this week

Owners say they will focus on new business

Bulldog Lanes is closing its doors and it looks like for good this time.

“Friday is the last day we will be open,” co-owner Brooke Chapman-Hoiness said Tuesday. “The lanes (the bowling surfaces) have been sold and will be removed.”

She said she couldn’t comment much more than that because of a pending lawsuit.

The Montesano bowling alley was closed for more than three months last year after water damage led to the discovery of asbestos that needed to be removed. The alley had re-opened Aug. 20, 2018. Chapman-Hoiness and husband Todd Hoiness have owned the bowling alley since May 2016.

The couple say they look forward to focusing on their new business, Pub Monte, which is on the first block of West Marcy. They will be adding breakfast and lunch soon at the new business, Chapman-Hoiness said.

(The Vidette file) The last day for bowling at Montesano’s Bulldog Lanes is Friday, Oct. 25.
