Recent calls received by the Montesano Police Department.

Feb. 11

Subject stop. Monte Square Hotel parking lot. 7:13 p.m. Officer contacted subject sitting under the stairs on the west side of the hotel. Observed open Rolling Rock beer next to subject. Subject was not intoxicated and said he was waiting for ride from friend. Officer advised subject to get rid of beer and there was no drinking in public in city of Montesano.

Suspicious persons. 500 block E. Broadway. 9:09 p.m. Reporting party came home and noticed three people standing in the alley way behind his house. They seemed to be casing out the area. They started running toward high school. Reporting party ran down to the corner of Chehalis and Spruce and could see them get into a black car and drive west. Reporting party said it looked like license plate was covered. Officer unable to locate.

Suspicious persons. 400 block S. Main St. 9:59 p.m. Officer found vehicle parked behind hotel. Three individuals had been next to vehicle and took off running in different directions. Searched area, unable to locate subjects. Vehicle and subjects match description of earlier suspicious call.

Feb. 12

Suspicious persons. 500 block S. 7th St. 2:35 a.m. Report of suspicious vehicle in driveway. Officer on scene with blue Honda, two subjects in vehicle. One subject advised her parents live in Montesano and they were trying to find them. A third subject had fled through the back yard. Area searched, but unable to locate. Firearm was found on ground at rear of driveway that no one claimed. Officer secured firearm and ran for stolen. Placed into evidence. Subject called parents who came and retrieved car and both subjects because neither had driver’s licenses.

Suspicious person. S. 7th St. 4:41 a.m. Reporting party saw dark subject moving around parked cars in the area. Related to previous call.

Theft, vehicle. 400 block E. Wynooche Ave. 10:06 a.m. Reporting party’s blue Ford F150 w/blue canopy was stolen overnight. Also two other pickups prowled and items taken. Unknown suspect.

Feb. 13

Disorderly conduct. 100 block W. Broadway Ave. 5:14 p.m. Calling party was with a female subject who got an order against her ex. Calling party stated as they were walking out to leave the male made reference to him as being a “Mexican” as he spoke to someone on a cell phone. He had been speaking loudly to make sure calling party heard what he had to say about him. Calling party report for information only. Officer unable to locate other party.

Feb. 14

Suspicious person. 100 block W. Broadway Ave. 8:39 a.m. Male in building wearing a green military uniform singing and dancing, acting very odd. Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office also responded and contacted subject. No problem.

Suspicious person. South Main Street at East Pioneer Avenue. 9:48 a.m. Male in military jacket outside the Beehive. Acting weird. Marching down the middle of the street. Officer unable to locate subject.

Traffic accident. 200 block E. Pioneer Ave. 1:15 p.m. Vehicle vs. sign. Driver struck the pole/sign at Thriftway. No injury.

Feb. 16

Traffic hazard. First block Monte Elma Road. 7:06 a.m. Female walking eastbound in the middle of the roadway, waving her arms. Subject transported to her residence in Elma.

Traffic Hazard. Westbound State Route 12 at Third Street off ramp. 7:30 a.m. Vehicle was traveling at 40 mph on the highway. Driver was having trouble going faster. He was told to exit the highway if he could not safely drive at highway speed.

Theft from vehicle. 500 block S. 4th St. 9:32 a.m. Reporting party’s blue Ford van was broken into overnight. Purse and other items taken.

Feb. 17

Missing person. 1700 Sylvia Lake Road. 5:22 p.m. Male subject lost in woods behind Lake Sylvia. After short search he was found on the end of B400. He was in good health and he and his dog were transported to his vehicle at Lake Sylvia Park.

Feb. 20

Agency assist. South Main Street at Pioneer Avenue. 11:07 a.m. Male on the sidewalk fell down twice. Subject passed out in front of Bee Hive. Possible blood sugar problem.

Suspicion. 400 block S. 3rd St. 12:39 p.m. Report of loud pounding on door, reporting party went to check but found no one. There was blood on the door. officer arrived on scene, the reporting party had left. It appeared someone dabbed blood with the end of a their finger on the door. Photo was taken. Officer contacted someone from location, explained what he saw and she was going to come clean up.

Feb. 21

Violation of court order. 300 block W Beacon Ave. 4:53 p.m. Male subject sitting on hill, urinated against fence at top of hill, visible to kids at field. Officer responded and contacted male subject. It was found that he had a valid no-contact order with female subject he was with. He was booked on citation.

Feb. 22

Burglary. 400 block E. Kamilche Ave. 8:21 p.m. Reporting party arrived to find back door open. Several electronics missing. Unknown how entry gained.
