Superior Court to host National Adoption Day event

Grays Harbor Superior Court invites public to come learn about foster adoption

Grays Harbor County Superior Court will host a small celebration of National Adoption Day on Nov. 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone interested in learning more about adoption is invited to attend.

In Washington state, more than 9,400 children are in foster care, and more than 1,700 of these children have permanently lost their parents and are waiting for families to adopt them, according to figures provided in a statement by court administrator Jamie Bates. Child welfare workers and the courts in Grays Harbor County would like the community to have the opportunity to learn more about these children and the process of foster adoption.

This is the thirteenth years that National Adoption Day celebrations are being held across the state.
