• The Grays Harbor ACLU meets the third Wednesday of every month for a potluck at 6 p.m. at Events on Emerson (212 4th St. in Hoquiam).

• Olympic Area Agency on Aging presents every third Thursday of the month Family Caregivers Support Group. 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church (1296 Monte Elma Rd. in Elma). For more information call (360) 538-2458.

• Schafer Meadows Fiber Arts Guild holds a monthly meeting the second Wednesday of each month, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Elma., Discuss fiber arts of all kinds – crocheting, knitting, weaving, embroidery, spinning and more. Bring a dish to pass. A potluck lunch will be held at noon. Open to the public.

• TOPS Club, Inc. WA 1522 has private weigh-in from 6 p.m.-6:30 p.m. every Thursday in the forestry meeting room at 310 W. Spruce Ave. (on the second floor). Meetings follow at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. For more information call (360) 581-3835.

At the libraries

• Elma Timberland Library presents family storytimes Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. from Sept. 6-Dec. 13. Music, movement, books and crafts for the whole family. All ages welcome. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.

• Grays Harbor Fire District 12 will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at McCleary Fire Hall.

Saturday, Oct. 21

Events

• Annual Harvest Home Dinner, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at Montesano United Methodist Church (at the corner of Spruce and Church streets). Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, beans, corn, squash, beet relish, dinner rolls, beverages and homemade pies. Tickets are $12 per adult and 50 cents per year of age for children younger than 10. Use Spruce street entrance and register with hostess. Handicapped access on Church Street.

• Rummage sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Elma Fraternal Order of Eagles. All proceeds will go to Glory Center, a shelter for abused/homeless women and children in Grays Harbor.

• A “lazyman” cakewalk fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. at Olympic View Grange in Brady. The cost to play is $5 for children, or $7 for ages 16 to adult. The event is open to the public.

At the libraries

• Elma Timberland Library presents Make It @ The Library: Fun with Alcohol Inks, 2-3 p.m. for adults and teens. Make projects to take home using alcohol inks. All materials are provided.

Entertainment

• “The Wizard of Oz” will be shown at 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam at 7:30 p.m. Also on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m.

• McCleary Timberland Library presents PageTurners Book Discussion, 3-4 p.m. for adults and teens. Join in a discussion of “Hillbilly Elegy” by J.D. Vance.

Thursday, Oct. 26

At the libraries

• Montesano Timberland Library presents PageTurners Book Discussion, 6:30-8 p.m. for adults. Join others for a discussion of “The Distance Between Us” by Reyna Grande. The library will be closed at this time and no other library services will be available.

Saturday, Oct. 28

Events

• 30th Annual Lake Limerick Arts and Crafts Bazaar, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at a Lake Limerick Inn in Shelton (790 E. Saint Andrews Drive). Raffle to benfit Mason County Homeless Shelter.

• Elma VFW Auxiliary will host Holiday Bingo 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Elma Grange (401 W. Waldrip). Proceeds will be used to purchase gifts for Christmas families. Bake sale and snack bar will be open.
