Tires on top for Elma Chamber

Les Schwab Tire Center of Elma named Business of the Quarter

The Elma Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors presented the Business of the Quarter Award, for the second quarter of 2017, to Kres Brown, manager of Les Schwab Tire Center of Elma. The business was awarded during the Elma chamber general membership meeting, on June 14 at Elma Grange.

Les Schwab Tire Center of Elma was presented the award based on enhancement to Elma and support of the business community. Since the company was founded more than 60 years ago, there have been several Les Schwab store designs. The Elma location opened in July 1997.

“With each evolution we set out to improve our crew’s ability to deliver the world class customer service our customers have come to count on,” Brown said. “The Elma store had a complete remodel done in 2004. Most recently, we updated all of our furniture to provide an even more comfortable customer experience.”

There are currently nine employees. Additional employees are hired based on customer needs.

“Giving back to the community is at the heart of Les Schwab. Our founder, Les Schwab, believed in supporting the communities where his employees live and work,” Brown said. “We carry on that tradition today as local stores sponsor organizations and events that reflect the community’s interest.”

Les Schwab sponsors Elma High School booster clubs, Elma Chamber of Commerce, Grays Harbor County Fair 4-H and FFA Junior Livestock Auction, Heat on the Street Custom Car &Motorcycle Show, Grays Harbor Mounted Posse Indoor Pro Rodeo, Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) and Washington State High School Rodeo Association saddle sponsor.
