Hartford’s performance applauded

Elma senior Ira Hartford won the Week 2 game ball from the Grays Harbor Newspaper Group

East County player, senior Ira Hartford, an Elma Eagle, won last week’s game ball from the Grays Harbor Newspaper Group for his week 2 performance against White Salmon.

“Offensive slugfests can give players a chance to rack up big numbers on one night. Offensive slugfests when you are trailing big at halftime can give players an excellent chace to rack up even bigger numbers on one night,” the newspaper group wrote.

Hartord helped lead Elma to erase a first-half deficit with six second-half touchdowns (four of them in a four-minute span in the third quarter) and 336 yards rushing overall in Elma’s 54-59 loss to White Salmon on the road.
